An unintended expat blogger behind Meek Harbor Seed

Hello there, I'm Sophie
Project manager, parent, and expat living in Paris, France.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn't in our long-range plan. Similar to many international moves, it began as a job opportunity and soon evolved into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more challenging than anticipated.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural adjustment, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt enduring.
Why I Built Meek Harbor Seed
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourist content. What was lacking was genuine, everyday family insight.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in France.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in France continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, please feel free to get in touch.
Best wishes,
Sophie
